This is a must have if you have a mountain bike with a dropper post or a road bike and also own a new Apple Airtag!
This water resistant rear saddle rail bike light fitting has been adapted to discreetly and securely hold an Apple AirTag within the main body and a light with a rubber fitting at the same time.
Using the existing 7mm round saddle rails with a c-c of 45mm, the light fitting is secured to the seats rails underneath the saddle and the rear light holder has a removable secured lid to secure the AirTag within.
Originally designed simply due to the fact there are a huge number of rear lights available with no way to secure them to the rear of the saddle or saddle rail, you now have the choice of buying the fitting and using your own light or purchase both items from Bik3d.
We have found there are two issues when fitting a light to a mountain bike fitted with a dropper post. You shouldn’t fit a light to a dropped post (it will almost certainly fall off) and if you attach a light to the frame under the dropper post the light is then too low, it is often hidden by the wheel or a mudguard and is unseen by traffic behind.
Using our unique solution, as can be seen from the photos, once installed any light either fittings horizontally or vertically is simply fitted around the rear round body using the rubber strap supplied with the light.
Your light can easily be removed from the fitting at the end of your ride to charge or keep safe without the need to remove the light fitting and the Apple AirTag remains in situ unseen and secure offering protection against your bike being stolen.
